Mextizaje Consciousness

I create multimedia two-dimensional narratives, often using traditional fresco techniques which are about family.  In Nomeliz Xochitl (Life Sleep), I often refer to familiar objects to metaphorically represent these close members.  In an earlier series, Photomatik 4 For 25, I use the common Photobooth memory and quintessential school pictures to produce portraits of myself and others.  This research enables me  to explore my identify and what it means to be a Mextiza, of mixed heritage - Spanish and indigenous "Native American", in honoring my relatives.
